But you&#8217;ve gotta know how to work it. I have a whole course that teaches you <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/HABO-Pinterest-Course"><strong>how to set up your Pinterest to drive blog traffic and income</strong></a> so you can check that out if you&#8217;re clueless about Pinterest. Even if you already have the Pinterest basics down but want to learn and solidify your Pinterest game then this course is for you.</p>

<p>So, what is a Pinterest Group Board anyway? Let&#8217;s get into that.</p>

<p class="has-background" style="background-color:#fbc3d1;font-size:22px"><em>Blogging is STILL one of the best ways to make a fulltime income online. Take my free course </em><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/start" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">How to Start a Profitable Blog</a><em> today to learn how to create a blog that makes money from the start. </em></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pinterest Group Board Definition</h2>

<p>A Pinterest group board is a board that belongs to someone who has opened it up to collaborators. These collaborators have accepted invitations to pin to this board.</p>

<p>If I have a board on blogging and I want to invite other expert&nbsp;bloggers to collaborate with me on this board, I can open it up to be a group board. Once they accept my invitation to join my board, it becomes a group board and now all my followers can see pins added to my board by these collaborators.</p>

<p>So there were several key elements there I want to make sure you understood.</p>

<p>A group board belongs to only one person, the person who created the board.</p>

<p>All other members of the board are collaborators. When you join a group board and pin to it, your followers do not see the pin unless they are also following this group board.</p>

<p>The followers that will see the pin are the group board owners followers.</p>

<p>This means then that if you have a small following, you can apply to become a collaborator on a board with a larger following. Once accepted, your pin will be seen by all those followers of the group board.</p>

<p>I hope I broke that down easily enough for everyone to understand. I know Pinterest can be a confusing place. </p>

<div class="wp-block-group"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/pinterest" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="577" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1024x577.png" alt="4 Ways to Find Pinterest Group Boards That Will Explode Your Blog Traffic" class="wp-image-53366" title="pinterest for blog traffic" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1024x577.png 1024w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-600x338.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-300x169.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-768x433.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1536x865.png 1536w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-640x361.png 640w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1080x608.png 1080w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1280x721.png 1280w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-980x552.png 980w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-480x270.png 480w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic.png 1640w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></figure>
</div></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What Type of Group Board Should You Join?</h2>

<p>There are several key elements that make a Pinterest group board good for blog traffic. You want to join a board that</p>

<ol class="wp-block-list">
<li>has a good amount of followers</li>

<li>is in a niche that you write about</li>

<li>has high engagement or repin rates</li>
</ol>

<p>Pinterest uses board names to help it determine what a pin is about. That means that adding your recipe pin to a board called &#8220;The Best of Pinterest&#8221; is probably not doing your pin any good.</p>

<p>Remember that in all things blogging, <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/best-keywords-for-blog-traffic/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">keywords are extremely important</a>.</strong> This is the same on Pinterest since it can be considered a visual search engine.</p>

<p>The number of followers the board has is less important to me than the name of the board. For instance, on my lifestyle blog, I have several strong niches I write about. Natural hair being on of them. I tend to join any natural hair board I can get onto even those with a smaller following than I do because that board is so targeted that all of its followers are obviously very interested in that particular topic.</p>

<p>That means I want to make sure that my content gets a chance to be seen by them.</p>

<p>How to determine high engagement and repin rates of a board is something I teach in <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/HABO-Pinterest-Course" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Everything Pinterest</strong></a>. You can grab that if you want to learn more about using Pinterest to grow blog traffic and income. Let&#8217;s get into the 4 ways to find Pinterest group boards to join.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/keyword-res" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><img decoding="async" width="1024" height="576" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-1024x576.png" alt="4 Ways to Find Pinterest Group Boards That Will Explode Your Blog Traffic" class="wp-image-53339" title="keyword research masterclass" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-1024x576.png 1024w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-600x338.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-300x169.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-768x432.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-640x360.png 640w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-1080x608.png 1080w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-980x551.png 980w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass-480x270.png 480w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/keyword-research-masterclass.png 1280w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></figure>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Use Google to Find Pinterest Group Boards to Join</h2>

<p>One thing that many people don&#8217;t realise is that if you simply search &#8220;join my Pinterest group board&#8217; and you&#8217;ll find a bunch of blog posts, <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/how-to-find-pinterest-group-boards/" target="_blank" data-type="post" data-id="139" rel="noreferrer noopener">like this one</a>, that are encouraging you to join a blogger&#8217;s group board.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll need to skip back to maybe page 5 or 6 or so of the search results to find these posts because the first bunch of pages will be more along the lines of this post, telling you all about Pinterest group boards and how to find them.</p>

<p>You can also do a search for something like &#8220;Pinterest group board for mom bloggers&#8221; or &#8220;food blog Pinterest group board&#8221;</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Using Facebook Groups to Find Group Boards</h2>

<p>There are whole Facebook groups dedicated to nothing more than listing group boards and finding group boards that are open. Then there are Facebook groups dedicated to sharing Pinterest pins that have a day where they allow you to advertise open group boards.</p>

<p>Do a search on Facebook for Pinterest groups or download this list of <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/facebook-groups-bloggers/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Facebook groups for bloggers</strong></a> that help you to grow not only your blog traffic but your social media accounts as well.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Stalking Other Blogger&#8217;s Pinterest Accounts</h2>

<p>One of the easiest ways to find group boards to join is simply going on your favourite blogger&#8217;s Pinterest page and seeing what group boards they belong to. This way you can apply to join the boards they are in.</p>

<p>The problem with this method is that very established bloggers tend to belong to large group boards that are no longer accepting collaborators so this method may not be the most fruitful. In fact, it can be so frustrating.</p>

<p>I like to use the first two methods more since the board owners themselves are the ones telling you their board is open and inviting you to join their board.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How Many Group Boards Should You Join</h2>

<p>As much as you can! I am on over 200 and I&#8217;m still looking for more to join for different topics as I write. Y<a href="https://help.pinterest.com/en/articles/limits-pins-boards-likes-and-following" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">ou can have over 500 boards on your Pinterest profile</a> so don&#8217;t worry about having too many boards.</p>

<p>Pinterest has also recently allowed you to organise your boards by the date you joined, by name of the board and by drag and drop (so you can say &#8230; put your most important boards at the top of your profile) so this makes it easier for you to keep track of them all.</p>

<p>I also have a spreadsheet with all of my boards which assists me in my Pinterest strategy.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Create Your Own Group Board</h2>

<p>To create your own group board, simply go to the board and click on edit. You will see the slot where you can invite a collaborator.</p>

<p>Owning a group board is a great way to get more followers on Pinterest since in order for collaborators to be added to a group board, they generally have to follow you first. </p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Leave a Pinterest Group Board</h2>

<p>To leave a group board, navigate to the board you want to leave, click on edit then scroll down to your name in the list of collaborators and click remove. I leave group boards from time to time when they become spammy and off-topic. I wouldn&#8217;t leave once simply because the engagement is low, I&#8217;d simply stop pinning to it and focus on other boards.</p>

<p>This board may pick up again in the future and it doesn&#8217;t hurt to keep your access to it just in case. Schedulers like <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/free-tailwind">Tailwind</a> will help you to monitor the health of a board so you&#8217;ll be able to quickly see which boards are doing well. All <g class="gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="6" data-gr-id="6">things</g> I teach in <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/HABO-Pinterest-Course" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">my course</a>.</p>

<p>I hope this post helps you on the frustrating quest to find great group boards to join. If so, please leave a comment below and share it with a friend.</p>

<p>Getting traffic is much easier to do and the results are much quicker than search engine optimization which is why I always recommend that bloggers learn how to work the platform. <a aria-label="Getting traffic is much easier to do and the results are much quicker than search engine optimization which is why I always recommend that bloggers learn how to work the platform. <p>If for <g class="gr_ gr_18 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-ins replaceWithoutSep" id="18" data-gr-id="18">instance,</g> you have a board that is without a description, Tailwind will highlight this for you in the dashboard as I&#8217;ve shown above. <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/pinterest-everything-get-blog-traffic-pinterest/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">This post explains why your board descriptions</a></strong> are a critical part of your Pinterest SEO strategy.</p>

<p>I can also see right away how many repins I have received this week versus last week and how many of those repins are from my website. This gives you a quick look at your growth from week to week.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">First Step: Set Up Board Lists&nbsp;</h3>

<p>Board lists allow you to group all your related boards in one list. This helps you to schedule one pin <g class="gr_ gr_25 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace" id="25" data-gr-id="25">to</g> many related boards, whether group boards or your own boards, in one click.&nbsp; </p>

<p>Your pins will go out to all your boards in an interval set by you. This helps to avoid having your profile look spammy by sending out your pins to all your boards at once. Instead, this makes it super easy to trickle it out over time and in between&nbsp;other pins.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-1.png" alt="Tailwind App Board lists tutorial" class="wp-image-50581" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 1" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-1.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-1-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-1-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-1-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-1-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>You can find boards lists on the menu to the left under &#8220;Publish&#8221;</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-2.png" alt="Tailwind App Board lists tutorial" class="wp-image-50582" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 2" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-2.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-2-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-2-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-2-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-2-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>You can see that&nbsp;I have all my relevant boards grouped by niche and I also have my general niche boards in several of the same lists. This means I can schedule my parenting pins to all my mommy and general group boards in one go.</p>

<p>Take some time to set up your board lists inside Tailwind once<strong> <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/free-tailwind">you sign up for your account</a>.</strong>&nbsp;(Using that link not only gives you your first 100 pins free, it also give you your first month free should you love Tailwind as much as I do and choose to sign up for a paid plan! SCORE!)</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll notice that I highlighted the iOS mobile app and browser extension buttons on this screen. These will come in quite handy later on in this Tailwind tutorial.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Step 2: Set Up Your Tailwind App Smart Schedule</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-3.png" alt="Tailwind App Smart Schedule and Optimized time slots" class="wp-image-50583" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 3" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-3.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-3-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-3-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-3-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-3-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>After setting up your board lists, you&#8217;ll want to head over to your schedule and set things up. It&#8217;s right above the board lists under &#8220;Publish&#8221; in the menu. Mine is already all setup but when you&#8217;re new it will take you through a few things in the getting started menu to the right to help populate your time slots.</p>

<p>Over time, Tailwind will analyze your account and begin to give you suggestions to add to your schedule for times that you usually get high repins. You can simply click on these to add them to your schedule.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re on the yearly Tailwind plan, you can pin an unlimited number of pins so you can add these to your heart&#8217;s delight. The monthly plan gives you 400 pins per month.</p>

<div class="wp-block-button aligncenter"><a class="wp-block-button__link has-very-dark-gray-color has-text-color has-background wp-element-button" href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/free-tailwind" style="background-color:#eaf759" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Sign up for a FREE Tailwind trial here</strong></a></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Step 3: Filling Up Your Pinterest Scheduler</h3>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-6.png" alt="How to schedule pins with the Tailwind App " class="wp-image-50584" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 6" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-6.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-6-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-6-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-6-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-6-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>Now, you&#8217;re ready to fill up your schedule and begin pinning automatically. You can schedule pins from anywhere with the Tailwind browser extension, quite a nifty tool. In the image above, I am scrolling my Pinterest smart feed and notice a pin that could use some love.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s been a while since I&#8217;ve pinned this pin and it&#8217;s very important to keep repinning your own pins so I&#8217;m going to schedule this pin to go out over all of my &#8220;How to Blog&#8221; boards on my blogging boards list. Click the little Tailwind button highlighted in the pic above and this screen will pop up:</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-5.png" alt="How to schedule pins with the Tailwind App " class="wp-image-50585" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 5" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-5.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-5-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-5-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-5-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-5-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>Clicking in the &#8220;Type a Board Name&#8221; box shows me all my board lists at the top. It also shows you how many boards are on each list.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-9.png" alt="How to schedule pins with the Tailwind App " class="wp-image-50586" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 9" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-9.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-9-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-9-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-9-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-9-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>I click on my &#8220;How to Blog&#8221; list and it populates the field with all the boards in the list. This allows me to remove any boards that I may have recently pinned this pin to. You can see here that I&#8217;ve already pinned this pin to a few boards, highlighted by the yellow box around them.</p>

<p>By clicking on the yellow exclamation button highlighted in the above screenshot, Tailwind will tell you when last you pinned this post to this board.</p>

<p>That&#8217;s great to help you determine whether or not it&#8217;s OK to go ahead and pin it to this board again, depending on how much time has passed.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-7.png" alt="How to schedule pins with the Tailwind App " class="wp-image-50587" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 7" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-7.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-7-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-7-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-7-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-7-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>At the bottom of the list of boards, it will have two buttons: Schedule Now and Interval. Click on interval first so that your pins do not go out one behind the other to all your boards. Interval has several options.</p>

<p>It allows you to utilize either the next available time slots in your queue, only optimized time slots, or exact time slots if you want to control this.</p>

<p>Click on one, set your interval, and schedule your pin. I have my interval above set at every 12 hours. You&#8217;ve now scheduled one pin to go out across several boards over time and won&#8217;t have to worry about adding it to your group boards individually.</p>

<p>Once you&#8217;ve installed the browser extension, the Tailwind icon will come up not only on Pinterest but also on any blog or website that you are on, allowing you to quickly and easily schedule 3rd party pins to your Tailwind queue.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Even Better Than Pinterest Automation: Tailwind Tribes</h2>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-8.png" alt="How to schedule pins in Tribes with the Tailwind App " class="wp-image-50588" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 8" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-8.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-8-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-8-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-8-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-8-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>Inside the same little schedule window, there&#8217;s a button to add your pin to tribes. Before clicking on schedule, click on this button to also submit your pin to your tribes as well.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">What are Tailwind Tribes?</h3>

<p>Tailwind Tribes are like Pinterest Group Boards on steroids. A tribe is a group of people who commit to sharing each other&#8217;s pins. Whereas a group board is great for exposing you to one group board owner&#8217;s audience, a Tailwind tribe will expose to a whole group of pinners who have committed to pinning your pins.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s much easier to stay fair in a tribe since the tribe owner can easily see your ratio of <g class="gr_ gr_21 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling ins-del" id="21" data-gr-id="21">pins</g> submitted to the tribe vs pins from other tribe members that you have shared. If they&#8217;re like me, they stay on top of kicking out people who are unfair, adding pins to the tribe but not sharing equally.</p>

<p>I get a good amount of traffic from my Tailwind Tribes! Here&#8217;s <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/HABO-Tribe" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">an invite to join my tribe</a> </strong>for all niches. This is a Tailwind summary email showing a snapshot of what my Tailwind Tribes were doing when they were new.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="626" height="439" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Screenshot-2018-02-27-11.40.44.png" alt="top tailwind tribes for blog traffic" class="wp-image-50594" title="Screenshot 2018 02 27 11.40.44" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Screenshot-2018-02-27-11.40.44.png 626w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Screenshot-2018-02-27-11.40.44-600x421.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Screenshot-2018-02-27-11.40.44-300x210.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Screenshot-2018-02-27-11.40.44-610x428.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 626px) 100vw, 626px" /></figure>

<p>Notice that some tribes get way more repins than others. These are probably tribes you want to join to boost your traffic!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Shuffling Your Tailwind Queue</h2>

<p>When I just started using Tailwind, I always forgot to click the interval button when scheduling my pins so would have all my pins lining up one after the other inside my Tailwind queue.</p>

<p>To quickly fix this, go to your Tailwind schedule and hit the shuffle button, then all will be right inside your Pinterest non-spammy profile world again.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="810" height="450" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-4.png" alt="How to Automate Pinterest with Tailwind: The Best Pinterest Scheduler" class="wp-image-50591" title="Tailwind App Dashboard 4" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-4.png 810w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-4-600x333.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-4-300x167.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-4-768x427.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/Tailwind-App-Dashboard-4-610x339.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 810px) 100vw, 810px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>Above you can see inside my queue that the same pin is scheduled to go out today to a couple of my boards but will be separated by other pins so my profile won&#8217;t look like a spammy repetitive profile.<br></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Getting Your Pinterest Strategy Right for High Blog Traffic</h2>

<p>Believe it or not, there&#8217;s still so much more to utilize inside the Tailwind app.</p>

<p>Things like the board insights and a 3rd party pinning strategy I use to pin to the right boards at the right time for the most bang for my buck.</p>

<p>As bloggers, especially if you&#8217;re a blogger&nbsp;who isn&#8217;t yet making enough money on your blog to outsource all the things yet to a virtual assistant, it&#8217;s important to have a solid strategy for all your efforts.</p>

<p>This is especially important when using a paid tool so you&#8217;re not just shooting the air hoping that something gets hit, potentially wasting money.</p>

<p>My complete Tailwind strategy can be found in <strong><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/pinterest" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">my Pinterest course</a></strong>. I include video demonstrations to show you exactly how to use Tailwind to automate Pinterest and grow your blog traffic rapidly. </p>

<p>If you&#8217;re a blogger struggling to get traffic to your blog, you need this guide. It&#8217;s the step-by-step breakdown I wish I had when I just started out.</p>

<p>You may or may not have heard that Pinterest can drive massive amounts of traffic to your blog.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s true.</p>

<p>Pinterest is the one social media platform that doesn&#8217;t make it excruciatingly&nbsp;difficult to get your content out in front of hundreds of thousands of people relatively quickly.</p>

<p>When you&#8217;re a new blogger, you need traffic relatively quickly.</p>

<p>When I was on the come-up, I scoured hundreds of blog posts, took Pinterest courses, and read Pinterest e-books to get my traffic game on point. I was determined to get the numbers other bloggers bragged about getting from Pinterest.</p>

<p>When I finally cracked the code, it felt good as hell. My efforts were finally paying off and my pocket was loving it. So I wrote the guide I wish I had when I was just starting out. It would have saved me A LOT of time and a whole lot of money.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/pinterest" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="577" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1024x577.png" alt="Pinterest Everything: All The Tips You Need to Get Blog Traffic from Pinterest!" class="wp-image-53366" title="pinterest for blog traffic" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1024x577.png 1024w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-600x338.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-300x169.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-768x433.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1536x865.png 1536w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-640x361.png 640w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1080x608.png 1080w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1280x721.png 1280w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-980x552.png 980w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-480x270.png 480w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic.png 1640w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></figure>
</div></div>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Let&#8217;s Start With Getting Your Profile Pinterest Everything Ready</h2>

<p><strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/what-is-pinterest-need-blogger/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Read this post first if you&#8217;re completely new to Pinterest</a>.</strong> It explains<strong> </strong>what Pinterest is, why you need it and how to set it up properly to get the most out of all the features. </p>

<p>Now let&#8217;s get into some tips.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">1. Remove Off-Topic Boards</h3>

<p>If you&#8217;re like me then you&#8217;re converting a personal Pinterest account to a business one to use for your blog. If not and you&#8217;re starting brand new, then you can skip this tip.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter size-full is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything.png" alt="Pinterest Everything: All The Tips You Need to Get Blog Traffic from Pinterest!" class="wp-image-53369" width="500" height="750" title="pinterst everything" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything.png 1000w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything-600x900.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything-200x300.png 200w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything-683x1024.png 683w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything-768x1152.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything-640x960.png 640w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything-980x1470.png 980w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterst-everything-480x720.png 480w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 500px) 100vw, 500px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>I had&nbsp;a bunch of boards on my personal profile that were&nbsp;very random and had nothing to do with what I blog about. Things like home decor, wedding and my vision board. I still wanted these boards for my own personal use but I made them secret so I would be the only one with the ability to see what&#8217;s on them.</p>

<p>Tidy up your boards by removing the unwanted or off-topic boards, either deleting or making them private.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">2. Create More On Topic Boards</h3>

<p>While you&#8217;re tidying up your boards, you&#8217;ll want to create more boards that are relevant to what you blog about or things your audience would find interesting.</p>

<p>Fill them in with at least 15 high-quality pins from other people to get them going.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">3. Create Your Best of Board</h3>

<p>Create a board where all of your blog&#8217;s pins will be housed. You will use this board as the hub for several campaigns and other marketing efforts further down, but you also want a place where you can quickly and easily find all your pins.</p>

<p>You also want a board that you can showcase the best of your blog right at the top of your Pinterest profile so anyone visiting your profile will have something to check out to quickly see your content.</p>

</em></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">4. Arrange Your Boards at the Top of Your Profile</h3>

<p>Your boards are moveable. Drag and drop them in order of importance with your best of board as your very first one.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">5. Add a few board covers.</h3>

<p>This is not incredibly important but it is very useful to me to quickly identify my board in a long list of boards when I&#8217;m pinning. It also makes my profile look pretty when it&#8217;s visited by anyone, which people who are considering adding you to their group boards will do as well as anyone considering to partner with you for a paid social media post. I only do this for my most important boards at the very top of my profile.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1366" height="634" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-board-covers.png" alt="pinterest board covers" class="wp-image-50506" title="pinterest board covers" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-board-covers.png 1366w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-board-covers-600x278.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-board-covers-300x139.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-board-covers-768x356.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-board-covers-1024x475.png 1024w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-board-covers-610x283.png 610w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-board-covers-1080x501.png 1080w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>I went lazy and just did my logo on my covers, you could have yours <a href="https://www.canva.com/templates/social-graphics/pinterest-graphic/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer">designed in Canva</a> to fit what each board is about. Either way, it&#8217;s not that important so don&#8217;t spend forever on them.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">6. Add Keywords to Profile Name, Bio and Boards</h3>

<p>The importance of keywords are explained in <strong><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/pinterest" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">my Everything Pinterest </a></strong>course where I give you the breakdown of Pinterest SEO. You&#8217;ll need to understand Pinterest SEO in order to get your pins at the top of the smart feed for relevant search terms. Here are a few basic tips.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="916" height="586" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-profile.png" alt="What a good pinterest profile looks like" class="wp-image-50507" title="pinterest profile" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-profile.png 916w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-profile-600x384.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-profile-300x192.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-profile-768x491.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-profile-610x390.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 916px) 100vw, 916px" /></figure>
</div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">7. Make your profile picture on brand</h3>

<p>I use this same profile picture across all my social media platforms to keep things recognisable. If I change it on one, I will change it on all.</p>

<p>My profile pictures used to be my logo however I find that putting your face out there helps to personalise the brand and build a connection with my readers and greater community.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">8. Make Your Profile a Business Profile</h3>

<p>I spoke about how to do this in <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/what-is-pinterest-need-blogger/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>my Pinterest post here</strong></a>. Converting your existing account or setting up one as a business profile from the get-go gives you access to analytics and rich pins. You&#8217;ll need these.</p>

<p>You can also promote pins via a business profile if you need to.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Adding Pinterest Group Boards</h2>

<p>Once you&#8217;ve set up your profile and have filled it out with your own pins and pins from other people onto your relevant boards, it&#8217;s time to start applying to group boards.</p>

<p>Group boards will be the key to your traffic success on Pinterest. It gives you access to someone else&#8217;s audience, which might be quite larger than yours. To get on a group board, you&#8217;ll need to ask the owner to add you as a contributor to their board. If they agree to do so, you will now have the ability to pin your pins to their boards with their much larger audience.</p>

<p>Here are the tips you&#8217;ll need to know when it comes to group boards.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">9. Finding Relevant Pinterest Group Boards</h3>

<p>When I just started out, I jumped on all the general niche group boards I could find, as long as they had a larger audience than I did. These catch-all boards can be great. There&#8217;s one of them I love because it sends me a ton of traffic and has over twenty-three thousand followers, but it will be beneficial to also find group boards in your niche.</p>

<p>Now I am in group boards that relate to all the various topics I write about and I am seeing much more traction. <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/pinterest-group-boards/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>The easiest way to find group boards</strong> </a>is to visit the profile of a blogger in your niche and see which boards they are in. This will take you down a rabbit hole of boards to apply to. I give you all the details of finding relevant, quick moving group boards with high repin rates in <strong><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/pinterest" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">my Everything Pinterest course</a>.</strong> Not all group boards are worth your time.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">10. Start Your Own Group Board</h3>

<p>Having your own group board is a great way to get more followers. On Pinterest, if you&#8217;re on a bunch of bigger group boards you can get great traffic without a large following, but&nbsp;you still want to slowly build your own following so that your own boards do well too.</p>

<p>Having your own group board and promoting it in Facebook groups for Pinterest group boards in one way I have steadily built my Pinterest following to over 2500 currently.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Perfecting Your Pin Design</h2>

<p>Your pin design will be the crux of your success once all of the above is applied. It&#8217;s no use being on big group boards if no one ever repins your pins or clicks on them because they&#8217;re hard to read or otherwise unattractive. Here are a few tips for nailing your pin design.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">11. Choosing the Right Fonts</h3>

<p>The fonts you choose can make or break a pin. As a girly girl, I chose a lot of script fonts when I was just starting out. They look great on a design but can be hard to read, especially if they are light in colour and appear too small on a mobile device, which is probably where your pin is most likely to be seen.</p>

<p>That said, you can still utilise scripts as highlights if you choose. Just make sure that the essence of the pin is clear and legible.</p>

<p>This pin, for example, is very simple in design. The most important words are the biggest. The words &#8220;right now&#8221; aren&#8217;t the most essential part of what I&#8217;m saying but is a nice addition. Yes, I want to grow my blog, and even sweeter if I can do it right now. So the script simply adds a nice cherry on top.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">12. Choosing the Right Size</h3>

<p>Vertical pins perform best on Pinterest. The smallest dimensions I recommend that your pins be are the default dimensions that Canva uses: 735*1102. Stay away from square or horizontal pins.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">13. Choosing the right colours and images</h3>

<p>This is an art that you really need an eye for. Since I am not graphically gifted, I tend to scan my feed to see what catches my eye and use it for inspiration when creating my pins. After a while, you begin to develop your own personal style which should also be influenced by the type of pins that you notice performing really well for you.</p>

<p>Pinks and reds tend to do really well on Pinterest, however I have lots of pins that are darker that take off. Same with the rule of not using faces. I am a lifestyle blogger blogging about hair and fashion so faces are on lots of my pins. One of my most popular viral pins is this one:</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="427" height="1024" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/viral-pin.jpg" alt="What makes a viral pin" class="wp-image-50509" title="viral pin" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/viral-pin.jpg 427w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/viral-pin-125x300.jpg 125w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/viral-pin-300x719.jpg 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 427px) 100vw, 427px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>So experimenting is key. Bottom line: Make your pins easy to read. Do not try to add text over busy images without some sort of background for the text itself and stay away from too much script.</p>

<p>Unsplash and Pixabay are two places that I like to get free stock images to use for my pins.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">14. Brand Your Pins</h3>

<p>Always make sure to add your logo or website to your pins. This will help to build your brand. People who are familiar with your brand are more likely to repin and click through to your pins.</p>

<p>It can also help to deter people from stealing your pins, though this is very possible still.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">SEO For Pinterest</h2>

<p>Pinterest is a search engine and so should be optimized for similarly to Google. Here&#8217;s how to do that. This is my basic Pinterest SEO strategy. You can get the full picture within <a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/pinterest" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">my <strong>Everything Pinterest</strong> course.</a></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">15. Find Good Pinterest Keywords</h3>

<p>When you start to enter a search on Pinterest, some suggestions will come up. Take note of any that matches your content as you will want to use this in your pin description. Once you&#8217;ve hit enter and completed the search, some more keywords will be at the top of the Pinterest search result page.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image">
<figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1366" height="620" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-keywords.png" alt="pinterest keywords" class="wp-image-50510" title="pinterest keywords" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-keywords.png 1366w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-keywords-600x272.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-keywords-300x136.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-keywords-768x349.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-keywords-1024x465.png 1024w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-keywords-610x277.png 610w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/02/pinterest-keywords-1080x490.png 1080w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px" /></figure>
</div>

<p>The buttons that run across the top show the most popular keywords relating to gardening. Choose one or two relating to your post and add them to your pin description.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">16. Create Catchy Headlines</h3>

<p>The title of your post will be pulled as the headline for the pin so make sure it is keyworded as well. You want to have a good mix of your Google SEO keyword as the first couple of words and your Pinterest keyword being in there as well (if it&#8217;s not the same thing)</p>

<p>Refer to this post on <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/blog-seo-tips/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">how to identify your Google SEO Keywords</a></strong>.</p>

<p>The headline that you use on the image itself should make an impact and inspire that repin and clickthrough. Here&#8217;s where you can test a different headline than your blog post title, since that title may work better on Google than social sharing.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">17. Add your Keywords to your Alt Tags</h3>

<p>When you read the SEO post above, you will be able to identify your alt tags and know why they are important. Pinterest pulls the alt tag as part of your pin&#8217;s description, so make sure your keyword is in there as part of a flowing sentence or two.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Your Pinning Strategy</h2>

<p>Now that you&#8217;ve done the legwork of getting your profile and pin design ready and even done some SEO, you&#8217;re ready actually get your pins in rotation.</p>

<p>It&#8217;s important to manually pin as much as you can so that Pinterest recognises that you are active on their platform. As a blogger, everything you do should be driven by strategy. So it&#8217;s not just hopping on Pinterest pinning all willy-nilly, there&#8217;s an art to manual pinning that will bring you the traffic that you deserve so check out <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/habo-everything-pinterest-ebook/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>my book</strong></a>.</p>

<p>You won&#8217;t have time to manually pin every single day though but you want your pins to be going out to your group boards every day! For this, I automate my pinning in different ways.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">19. Tailwind</h3>

<p>I use Tailwind mainly for Tribes and to automate pinning third-party pins. I explained <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/how-to-use-tailwind-pinterest-automation/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)">how Tailwind works fully</a></strong> here.</p>

<p>Tribes are like one big group and everyone&#8217;s pinning everyone&#8217;s pins. It keeps everyone accountable since on group boards you have no idea if anyone is even pinning from the board even when it says so in the rules.</p>

<p>It also opens you up to a much large audience since a bunch of people can be pinning your pins instead of you adding your pin to just one group board with one set audience.<strong> <a aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/free-tailwind" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Check out Tailwind here</a></strong> to get a free trial of 100 scheduled pins.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Optimizing Your Site for Pinterest Sharing </h2>

<p>There&#8217;s no use to do all of this work if you&#8217;re not encouraging your readers to share on Pinterest. Here&#8217;s how I recommend doing that.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">20. Adding Share Buttons</h3>

<p>Use a social media share button plugin on your blog so that your posts are easily shareable to all the top platforms. I use Shareaholic, Social Warfare is good too. Add buttons to both the top and bottom of your posts as people rarely make it all the way down to the bottom of your posts.</p>

<p>I even have one floating on the side so wherever you are, if you feel to share, you can.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">21. Adding Your Pins to Your Posts</h3>

<p>People ask all the time where they should add their pins to their posts. Should it be top or bottom or looming there looking large in-between?</p>

<p>To that I say, it really doesn&#8217;t matter.</p>

<p>Yes, pins are rather large and obnoxious on a blog post when viewing on a laptop/desktop. But what many people aren&#8217;t realising here is that they can change the size of the image inside the post without having that affect the size of it when it&#8217;s shared to Pinterest.</p>

<p>All my pins are generally to the side of the words in my posts unless you&#8217;re viewing it from mobile which then it really doesn&#8217;t look that large anyway.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">22. Create Multiple Pins</h3>

<p>Create more than just one pin. This is how you&#8217;ll know what works best for your audience, by testing what colours, headlines and images work well you&#8217;ll best know how to design pins in the future.</p>

<p>Also, when a pin eventually dies down, you&#8217;ll want to create another to stir more traffic to that post.</p>

<p>Multiple pins also give you the option for adding your post to many different group boards without having your Pinterest profile looking spammy.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">23. Experiment With Pinterest Follow Boards or Popups</h3>

<p>One way to experiment with getting more Pinterest followers is by adding your Best Of board to your sidebar or footer or even trying one of those social media popups that bring attention to your Pinterest profile and a chosen board.</p>

<p>I have not tried the popup, I like to use the methods above for getting more traffic and feel like my pop up is best used to encourage sharing rather than follows but you can certainly give this a try.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">General Pinterest Tips to Boost Traffic</h2>

<div class="wp-block-group"><div class="wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained">
<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/pinterest" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="577" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1024x577.png" alt="Pinterest Everything: All The Tips You Need to Get Blog Traffic from Pinterest!" class="wp-image-53366" title="pinterest for blog traffic" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1024x577.png 1024w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-600x338.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-300x169.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-768x433.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1536x865.png 1536w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-640x361.png 640w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1080x608.png 1080w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-1280x721.png 1280w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-980x552.png 980w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic-480x270.png 480w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/pinterest-for-blog-traffic.png 1640w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></a></figure>
</div></div>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">24. Pin Often and A Lot</h3>

<p>You should be pinning every single day just like you want to get traffic every single day. That&#8217;s why I use the above tools to help me automate when I cannot pin every day.</p>

<p>You also want to be pinning multiple times throughout the day, not just at one particular time. &nbsp;<strong><a rel="noreferrer noopener" aria-label=" (opens in a new tab)" href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/free-tailwind" target="_blank">Tailwind</a></strong> is quite handy for helping with this. Around 30 pins per day <g class="gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_disable_anim_appear Grammar multiReplace" id="6" data-gr-id="6">is</g> optimal but with lots of pins and posts now, I pin way more than that.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">25. Remember to Repin Your Own Pins</h3>

<p>Especially if you&#8217;re not using Boardbooster to loop your pins, you want to remember to repin your own stuff to your relevant boards often.</p>

<p>But not your pins from your own boards, pins of yours that other people pin. You find these in your Pinterest notifications where it says &#8220;10 of your pins were saved&#8221;&nbsp; or similar.</p>

<p>Go to those boards that they were saved on and repin them to your own relevant boards or other group boards.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">26. Keep Track of Your Analytics</h3>

<p>In my <a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/traffic" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">free blog traffic challenge</a>, I show you how to track your pins inside Google analytics to see what&#8217;s trending.</p>

<p>You also want to keep an eye on your Pinterest analytics to see what the demography of your users are, what else they&#8217;re pinning and what types of accounts they&#8217;re following so you can get ideas for future posts.</p>

<p>Ok. That is<strong><a href="https://www.blogcoachmo.com/pinterest" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> Pinterest everything</a></strong>!!! If you couple your Pinterest marketing efforts with <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/affiliate-marketing-training/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>affiliate marketing</strong></a>, you will begin to earn significant income from your blog.</p>

<p>I do hope you found this post helpful! Let me know if you did in the comments below and please pin to Pinterest if you liked it!</p>

<p style="font-size:14px"><em>I keep hearing that Pinterest is really good for bloggers but what IS Pinterest and how in the heck do you get blog traffic from it?! If you find yourself trying to figure this out, this post on Pinterest strategies for bloggers is for you.&nbsp;</em></p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="735" height="1500" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest.png" alt="How to use Pinterest to drive massive amounts of traffic to your blog. A beginner&#039;s guide to using Pinterest for blog traffic. Work from home and make money online by using this manual pinning strategy. " class="wp-image-50437" title="pinterest" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest.png 735w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-600x1224.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-147x300.png 147w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-502x1024.png 502w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-300x612.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-610x1245.png 610w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 735px) 100vw, 735px" /></figure></div>

<p>What is Pinterest? You may think you know, but you have NO idea!</p>

<p>Was that a little cheesy? Sorry.</p>

<p>Pinterest is a powerhouse when it comes to driving traffic to your blog. It&#8217;s a good idea to master Pinterest rather quickly if you want to <g class="gr_ gr_6 gr-alert gr_spell gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim ContextualSpelling multiReplace" id="6" data-gr-id="6"><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/how-to-monetize-a-blog-step-by-step-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>monetise</strong></a></g><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/how-to-monetize-a-blog-step-by-step-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>&nbsp;your blog</strong></a> and grow quickly. Don&#8217;t worry, it&#8217;s not hard to grasp.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">What is Pinterest?</h2>

<p>Firstly, let&#8217;s clear the notion that Pinterest is a social media platform. When was the last time you wanted to connect with a friend and said hmm, let me hit them up on Pinterest? Nah.</p>

<p>What Pinterest is, is a robust search engine made up of visual images that pop up when you type your search query into the search box.</p>

<p>Pinterest&#8217;s user base of over 250 million people is 71% female.</p>

<p>What that means for you is holy cow that&#8217;s a lot of people who could see your pin and hey, if your blog speaks to a female audience, this is your new play area.</p>

<p>Bloggers need Pinterest because it can drive an <strong>immense</strong> <strong>amount of traffic</strong> to your blog <strong>very quickly</strong> if you master the platform. It&#8217;s as simple as that.</p>

<p style="background-color:#9cf1ce" class="has-background has-medium-font-size"><em>My blogging business exploded when I found a good Pinterest strategy. Ready to take your blog to the next level? My new<strong> Everything Pinterest ebook </strong>will teach you everything you need to know to drive BIG traffic to your blog and MAKE MONEY ONLINE. <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/product/habo-everything-pinterest/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Grab the book here and let&#8217;s make some money with your blog!</strong></a></em></p>

<p>I&#8217;ve been <em>pinning i.e.&nbsp;</em>adding pictures to Pinterest from my lifestyle blog for quite a while now and get some amount of traffic from it even though I never took the time to understand Pinterest.</p>

<p>I knew I needed to sit down and figure it out one day because I saw the benefits of using Pinterest. When I finally did, this is what happened.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1016" height="350" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-30-days-growth.png" alt="pinterest 30 days growth" class="wp-image-201" title="pinterest 30 days growth" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-30-days-growth.png 1016w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-30-days-growth-600x207.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-30-days-growth-300x103.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-30-days-growth-768x265.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1016px) 100vw, 1016px" /></figure>

<p>What are you seeing here? I grew my Pinterest page connected to my lifestyle blog from 29k monthly views to over 115k monthly views in 30 days. </p>

<p>Imagine what having 115,710 people see your pins from your blog each month could mean? And this was simply with some experimentation. Since then, I have actually taken a few <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/bbc">Pinterest courses</a></strong> and whoa traffic!</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="294" height="332" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/IrieDiva-Pinterest-Oct-22-2017.png" alt="IrieDiva Pinterest Oct 22 2017" class="wp-image-202" title="IrieDiva Pinterest Oct 22 2017" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/IrieDiva-Pinterest-Oct-22-2017.png 294w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/IrieDiva-Pinterest-Oct-22-2017-266x300.png 266w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 294px) 100vw, 294px" /></figure></div>

<p>To get started on your Pinterest page, the first thing you want to do is create a pretty profile page. It&#8217;s the first thing that people will see when they click over to your page when deciding if they should follow you or not.</p>

<p>Just like everywhere else, a high follower count on Pinterest helps. Even though there are ways to get around this which I love and will talk about further down in this post.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Building Your Pinterest Profile Page</h2>

<p>If there&#8217;s a section to be filled out, fill it out. Remember, Pinterest is a search engine so you will need to take every opportunity presented to add keywords related to your blog on your profile page.</p>

<p>This means your name, your description, your board names and board descriptions all need to have been filled out thoroughly with keywords that are relevant to your blog niche.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1366" height="635" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Profile-Page-1.png" alt="Pinterest Profile Page" class="wp-image-50719" title="Pinterest Profile Page 1" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Profile-Page-1.png 1366w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Profile-Page-1-600x279.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Profile-Page-1-300x139.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Profile-Page-1-768x357.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Profile-Page-1-1024x476.png 1024w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Profile-Page-1-610x284.png 610w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Profile-Page-1-1080x502.png 1080w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1366px) 100vw, 1366px" /></figure></div>

<p>Have a look at my profile page. You&#8217;ll see that the name is also filled out with keywords that are directly related to what I blog about. If anyone were searching for people who pin on your relevant keywords, you&#8217;ll want to be in the mix. (Update: This is not limited to only 30 characters so make the best use of it as you can.)&nbsp;</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll notice that my description is also a well-thought-out sentence that has to do with my blog. It&#8217;s not just a bunch of hashtags or keywords stuffed together. All a part of the strategy.</p>

<p>My profile picture is&nbsp;also a part of this strategy. For the longest while, it used to be my logo. But I realised that on Pinterest, people like to be able to connect with a person. It helps to build trust that I&#8217;m not spam but a real person blogging and offering these tips.</p>

<p>Notice that I still stuff my logo in their by way of my t-shirt. All about the branding baby.</p>

</em></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Organizing Your Pinterest Boards</h2>

<p>Using board covers as an opportunity to brand your page is an extra step that&#8217;s not completely necessary but is aesthetically pleasing. It also offers another opportunity to brand.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll also want your most important boards at the top of your page. See below I have the board that I pin all my blog pins on as the very first board and my first group board I created is there as well.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="1024" height="446" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Board-Page-1024x446.png" alt="Pinterest Board Page" class="wp-image-204" title="Pinterest Board Page" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Board-Page-1024x446.png 1024w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Board-Page-600x261.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Board-Page-300x131.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Board-Page-768x335.png 768w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Board-Page.png 1164w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /></figure>

<p>You can find the option to choose a board cover on the settings page of each board. Simply hover over a board and the pencil will appear to allow you to edit the board.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Claiming Your Blog, Your Pinterest Business Page</h2>

<p>I&#8217;m able to see all these analytics from my Pinterest page because I have connected my blog to my Pinterest account and turned my Pinterest profile into a business profile.</p>

<p>This also gives you the added bonus of enabling <em>rich pins</em>. Rich pins have more information below the pin than regular&nbsp;pins, giving you a better chance of standing out by way of your branding, description etc. Like so:</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Rich-Pin.png" alt="Pinterest Rich Pin" class="wp-image-205" width="210" height="520" title="Pinterest Rich Pin" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Rich-Pin.png 210w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Rich-Pin-121x300.png 121w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 210px) 100vw, 210px" /></figure></div>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter is-resized"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Non-Rich-Pin.png" alt="Pinterest Non Rich Pin" class="wp-image-206" width="285" height="532" title="Pinterest Non Rich Pin" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Non-Rich-Pin.png 285w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Non-Rich-Pin-161x300.png 161w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 285px) 100vw, 285px" /></figure></div>

<p>If you compare the bottom of these two pins, one has a lot more information than the other. The angry bird pin has no snippet from the blog post where mine does.</p>

<p>You&#8217;re also able to see my Pinterest Profile name there so if this person wanted to click over to see what other amazing pins I have, they could. Every bit of information is important to help inspire a click on your pin instead of its neighbour.</p>

<p>Here, let&#8217;s zoom into the bottom of my pin so you can see what I mean.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="587" height="530" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Rich-Pin-1.png" alt="Pinterest Rich Pin 1" class="wp-image-207" title="Pinterest Rich Pin 1" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Rich-Pin-1.png 587w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Pinterest-Rich-Pin-1-300x271.png 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 587px) 100vw, 587px" /></figure></div>

<p>The top part has more information about where this pin originated from and the first few lines of the blog post. The bottom part has the description that I set for this image so that if anyone pins this image from my blog, that&#8217;s the description that will go with it.</p>

<p>See how it has the keywords that people will use if I want them to find this pin? <em>Spongebob themed birthday party</em>. All keywords on their own. Then there&#8217;s <em>Spongebob party games and decor</em>.</p>

<p>And now I see a type-o in the description so great job there, Mo! (Runs to go fix)</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How To Activate Rich Pins</h2>

<p>When you <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/ultimate-how-start-blog-blueprint/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">started your blog</a></strong>, you would have more-than-likely installed the Yoast SEO plugin to help you to optimize your blog and each post for search engines. This plugin can also help you to activate rich pins on your blog.</p>

<p>Click on the social tab within the settings of the plugin and ensure that the open graph metadata is enabled, like so:</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="979" height="574" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Yoast-Rich-Pin-2.png" alt="Yoast Rich Pin" class="wp-image-212" title="Yoast Rich Pin 2" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Yoast-Rich-Pin-2.png 979w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Yoast-Rich-Pin-2-600x352.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Yoast-Rich-Pin-2-300x176.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Yoast-Rich-Pin-2-768x450.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 979px) 100vw, 979px" /></figure>

<p>Once that is done you can head to the <a href="https://developers.pinterest.com/tools/url-debugger/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pinterest Rich Pin validator</a> and put in the URL (direct link) for any blog post on your blog. Hit apply once it&#8217;s been validated, and you&#8217;ll receive an email from Pinterest once it&#8217;s approved, usually within a day or two.</p>

<p>If for some reason you try to validate and it doesn&#8217;t work, it&#8217;s probably because the open graph isn&#8217;t set up properly. I had this issue when I first tried and had to install a separate open graph plugin altogether.</p>

<p>However, if this is a fresh WordPress install, you should have no issues.</p>

<p>You notice that the frontpage settings of the Yoast plugin are fully filled out as well? This ensures that if anyone is sharing my blog&#8217;s homepage and not necessarily a page within my blog, all the information and an optimised Facebook image size is shared.</p>

<p>Take the time to go through all the settings of your Yoast plugin, it is invaluable!</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Find and Join Group Boards</h2>

<p>So remember above when I said that followers are important but there&#8217;s a great workaround until you build your own following? It&#8217;s the infamous and elusive Pinterest group board.</p>

<p>A group board is a board that has multiple contributors. That&#8217;s it really. Well established group boards have thousands of followers which means if you manage to get onto these group boards as a contributor, you instantly have access to these thousands of followers without having thousands of followers yourself.</p>

<p>So even when you do get to thousands of followers, group boards can still be a great resource because it&#8217;s a whole new audience altogether.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll know a group board is a group board by the icon on it depicting multiple people. Have a look at what I mean below. There&#8217;s a circle with three profile pictures on the group board cover image.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="635" height="333" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board.png" alt="Group Board" class="wp-image-215" title="Group Board" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board.png 635w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board-600x315.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board-300x157.png 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 635px) 100vw, 635px" /></figure>

<p>How to join a group board is a whole different ballgame. Some group boards have contact information right in the description, making things super simple.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="832" height="407" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board-1-1.png" alt="What Is Pinterest Really Good For and Why You Need It as a Blogger" class="wp-image-216" title="Group Board 1 1" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board-1-1.png 832w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board-1-1-600x294.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board-1-1-300x147.png 300w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Group-Board-1-1-768x376.png 768w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 832px) 100vw, 832px" /></figure>

<p>This is my group board for bloggers of any niche. You can <a href="https://www.pinterest.com/iriediva/awesome-blog-posts/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">see it here</a> (and request to join.) Two things to note, instructions to join the board are clearly listed in the description.</p>

<p>However, if they&#8217;re not, you can also message the group board owner to see if they&#8217;ll add you. You&#8217;ll know who the board owner is by looking at the list of contributors.</p>

<p style="background-color:#a1f7d4;text-align:right" class="has-background has-medium-font-size">Related: <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/pinterest-group-boards/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>4 Unique Ways to Find ACTIVE Group Boards to Join</strong></a></p>

<p>Notice that my profile image is the first one in the list of the three contributors you can see? That&#8217;s because it&#8217;s my board. Simply click on the first profile image you see in the list to follow the board owner (because it&#8217;s always a polite necessity to follow board owners before requesting to join their board) and then you can use Pinterest&#8217;s messaging platform to send a message if no info was listed.</p>

<p>They won&#8217;t always add you, but it doesn&#8217;t hurt to try. Some boards will directly say they&#8217;re not open to more contributors. You can still try your luck but I usually simply move on.</p>

<p>There&#8217;s always another board to join. By the way, I have since grown my following to over 4000 and have a <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/pinterest-group-board-tribe/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">bunch of other group boards here</a></strong>. See if you&#8217;re a good fit for any.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">How to Create Fantastic Pinnable Images</h2>

<p>So you have your profile all set up, you&#8217;ve created several boards in your niche and already filled out these boards with at least 15 pins from others. This gets your profile and boards all filled out and robust and now you&#8217;re ready for the next step.</p>

<p>This is to work on some of your own pins. Go to your Pinterest feed and see what kind of images make it to the top of your page. Take note of which ones make you want to click through to their pages or blogs.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="600" height="1102" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-1-1.png" alt="A comprehensive guide on using Pinterest to get loads of traffic to your blog really quickly. These are the steps I used to grow my Pinterest monthly views by 10,000 views each day. It includes a manual pinning strategy too." class="wp-image-50721" title="pinterest 1 1" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-1-1.png 600w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-1-1-163x300.png 163w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-1-1-558x1024.png 558w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/pinterest-1-1-300x551.png 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 600px) 100vw, 600px" /><figcaption><br></figcaption></figure></div>

<p>What is it about these images? Chances are, it will be the colour scheme, the images they use within the scheme, the size of the pin and the clarity of the words (if any) on the image.</p>

<p>The optimal image size for your pin should be at least 735&#215;1102 pixels. This is the smallest pin you&#8217;ll be using, feel free to go a little wider and much longer if you please.</p>

<p>I use <a href="https://canva.com" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Canva</a> to create my images as they have fantastic free layouts ready to be customized. Take some time to go through the fonts and colours to create a template that matches your blog&#8217;s brand.</p>

<p>Use this template, tweaked for each post, again and again, to create a branded, recognizable pin style.</p>

<p>Whenever someone sees your pin, they&#8217;re likely to recognize and click through if they&#8217;ve done so before and enjoyed your content or found it helpful.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Create Multiple Images</h4>

<p>Within the context of the branded pin template you&#8217;ve created, use different images and headlines to create multiple images for the same post. Test to see which one sticks and receives the most repins and click-throughs.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;re on lots of group boards, you&#8217;ll want to create several different images so that you&#8217;re not pinning the same image over and over to different boards.</p>

<p>Later on, you can assess the success of your pin and decide whether you want to create a separate pin altogether for the post or continue to repin the same image to people who may have missed it the first time.</p>

<p>Add two or three pinnable images to each blog post that you write. Make sure you add the description of the blog post in the<strong> <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/write-blog-post-guide/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">alt tag of the image</a></strong> as this is what is used as the description on Pinterest when someone shares your post.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll also want to make sure that you&#8217;ve installed social share plugins on your blog to make each post super easy to share. Check out&nbsp;<strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/ultimate-how-start-blog-blueprint/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">this blogging blueprint</a></strong>&nbsp;where I list all my plugins including my favourite for social media sharing to all platforms. (And plugins you should be using to prevent hackers!)</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Two Manual Pinning Strategies</h2>

<p>If you&#8217;re not using a pin scheduler, you can manually pin daily to get great results.</p>

<p>Simply keep tabs on your pins by adding them to a spreadsheet. On another spreadsheet, you&#8217;ll want to keep your list of group boards.Every day, add three pins to these group boards, more if they allow, but space them out.</p>

<p>That way all your pins will be added in rotation to your group boards.</p>

<p>You&#8217;ll want to do this at high traffic times for your blog. Usually, that is around late evening but watch your Google Analytics to find this information for your own blog as for me it&#8217;s actually around noon.</p>

<p>If you&#8217;ve not yet set up Google Analytics or you&#8217;re not sure how to get the most from it, take my <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/free5day">5day free blog traffic challenge</a></strong> where I show you how to get the most from it with video tutorials.</p>

<p style="background-color:#f3fc00" class="has-background has-medium-font-size"><em><strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/HABO-Pinterest-Course" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">My course Everything Pinterest</a></strong> goes 10 levels deeper than this post to give you the step by step details with videos and tutorials on implementing a comprehensive Pinterest strategy that makes money and brings in massive traffic. <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/HABO-Pinterest-Course" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener"><strong>Sign up here today</strong></a>!</em></p>

<p>Another manual pinning strategy is to pin from your Google Analytics. That&#8217;s where the gold is! It&#8217;s always best to have data behind your efforts so you&#8217;re sure you&#8217;re getting the best results from your time, especially if you&#8217;re putting manual effort into your pinning. I share my exact strategy using videos in the above-linked course.</p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Scheduling Pins</h2>

<p>Yes, you&#8217;ll want to repin your pins over and over again, maybe once monthly or at least once every other month. You&#8217;ll also want to break up your pins with helpful pins from other people and pins that you&#8217;ve found in other niches that complement your own. How do you do this as efficiently as possible?</p>

<p>By using a pin scheduler. <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/free-tailwind">Tailwind is my scheduler of choice</a></strong> because of ease of use, it&#8217;s robust analytics machine and tribes included in the platform. I wrote a <strong><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/how-to-use-tailwind-pinterest-automation/">full breakdown of how I use Tailwind here</a></strong> and all the benefits of using it to schedule your pins.</p>

<p>Tailwind easily lets you schedule hundreds of pins per day and helps you to determine which pins, boards and tribes are doing well for you. It&#8217;s how I managed to grow my Pinterest so well in so little time! It&#8217;s free to try up to 100 pins so give it a test run.</p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading">Tailwind Tribes</h4>

<p>So what are these tribes I keep talking about anyway? It&#8217;s like a group board, but to me even better. A Tailwind Tribe is a group of people who have committed to sharing each other&#8217;s pins.</p>

<p>I&#8217;ve joined a bunch of all niche blogger tribes and a few specific tribes relating to my genres of the Caribbean, blogging and fashion. What&#8217;s so great about Tribes is that the owner usually has at least a 1:1 sharing rule, meaning you must share one pin to your own boards for every pin that you add to the tribe.</p>

<p>This keeps things fair as it is almost impossible to track this on a group board which can become dumping grounds for pins if not regulated.</p>

<p>On Tribes however, the Tribe owner and their admins can easily see the ratio of each Tribe member and warn or kick them out of the Tribe if they&#8217;re not complying with the rules.<strong> <a href="http://bit.ly/2iaHhEV" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">Here&#8217;s an invite</a></strong> to my all niche Tribe for bloggers.</p>

<div class="wp-block-image"><figure class="aligncenter"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="316" height="374" src="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Tribe.png" alt="Tribe" class="wp-image-218" title="Tribe" srcset="https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Tribe.png 316w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Tribe-253x300.png 253w, https://www.blogwithmo.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Tribe-300x355.png 300w" sizes="auto, (max-width: 316px) 100vw, 316px" /></figure></div>

<p>Here&#8217;s one all niche Tribe I&#8217;m in. From this shot, you can see that I&#8217;ve had 25 reshares so far with 1 repin. My reshares have the potential to reach over 99k people based on the follower count of the people that have shared them from the Tribe.</p>

<p>Repins may be low here because all of the reshares may not have actually been published yet. When you hit reshare on a pin inside your Tribe, it is scheduled, not published immediately.</p>

<p>I have quite a few scheduled already so it can take a while for my reshares to actually be published. Or, it could just be because my pins suck, who knows.</p>

<p>At the bottom of the screenshot, you see my pin ratio. I have added 32 pins so far in this tribe and have shared (scheduled) 29 pins from others.</p>

<p>Tribe admins can see this for all members of the Tribe and decide who to boot out, making it very reciprocal. Ready to take the Tailwind dive?<strong> <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/free-tailwind">Sign up for your free trial here</a>.</strong></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading">Pinterest Group Boards</h2>

<p>Pinterest Group Boards are collaborative boards on Pinterest where multiple users can share and contribute to a collection of pins centered around a specific theme or topic. These boards can be public or private, and they provide an excellent opportunity for businesses and individuals to expand their reach on the platform.</p>

<p>The purpose of group boards is to allow users to discover and share relevant content with a broader audience. Members of the group can add their own pins to the board, as well as repin and engage with other users&#8217; content. This collaborative approach can help increase engagement and visibility for all members, leading to more followers and website traffic.</p>

<p>Using group boards for your Pinterest marketing can offer several advantages, such as:</p>

<p><strong>Reaching a broader audience</strong>: By sharing your content on a group board, it can reach a much wider audience than your individual boards. This increased visibility can help grow your followers and increase your reach on the platform.</p>

<p><strong>Building relationships</strong>: Group boards allow you to connect with other users who share similar interests or niches, providing an opportunity to build relationships and collaborate with like-minded individuals.</p>

<p><strong>Driving traffic to your website</strong>: Group boards can be an effective way to drive traffic to your website by sharing content related to your products or services. This increased traffic can lead to higher conversion rates and more sales.</p>

<p>Overall, <a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/pinterest-group-boards/" target="_blank" data-type="post" data-id="50733" rel="noreferrer noopener">Pinterest Group Boards</a> are an excellent way to expand your reach, build relationships, and drive traffic to your website. In the next section, we&#8217;ll explore how to find group boards on Pinterest.</p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">How to Find Other Boards to Join</h3>

<p>Finding Pinterest Group Boards can be a little tricky, but there are several ways to locate them. Here are some methods for finding group boards on Pinterest:</p>

<p><strong>Pinterest search</strong>: One of the easiest ways to find group boards is by searching for them on Pinterest. Simply type in a keyword related to your niche or industry, followed by &#8220;group boards&#8221; in the search bar. Make sure to change the drop down in the search bar to &#8220;boards&#8221; from &#8220;all pins&#8221;. This should bring up a list of relevant group boards that you can explore.</p>

<p><strong>PinGroupie</strong>: PinGroupie is a free online tool that allows you to search for group boards on Pinterest. You can filter your search by keyword, category, number of followers, and more. This method can be hit or miss as it&#8217;s bring up loads of archived and old boards. </p>

<p><strong>Social Media:</strong> Another way to find group boards is by searching social media platforms like Facebook. Many Pinterest users will promote their group boards on these platforms, so it&#8217;s worth exploring. Look for Pinterest Groups on Facebook to start your search. </p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading">Tailwind</h3>

<p><a href="https://www.blogwithmo.com/tailwind" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">Tailwind</a> is an amazing pin scheduler that makes it easy to get your pins out on a consistent schedule. </p>

<p>Tailwind Tribes is a feature within the social media management tool that allows users to share and promote their content with other users. The tribes are made up of groups of people with similar interests who share each other&#8217;s content to help increase reach and engagement. <p>Using Tailwind Tribes can be an effective way to get your pins in front of other people and increase your reach on Pinterest. Here are some tips for using Tailwind Tribes effectively:</p>

<p><strong>Follow tribe rules</strong>: Each tribe will have its own set of rules and guidelines. Usually these are simple, make sure to stay on niche and keep your ratio of contributed and shared pins equal. That means make sure you also share the pins of your tribe members to your own Pinterest audience. Read and follow the rules to avoid being removed from a tribe.</p>

<p><strong>Engage with other users</strong>: In addition to sharing your content, engage with other users in the tribe. This can help you build relationships and increase the chances of your content being shared.</p>
